Reasons to visit China

China offers something for everyone, from those interested in history to nature and wildlife enthusiasts. Many travellers are still not sure whether a visit here is right for them, and we have picked our best bits of China to ensure this magnificent country is added to your bucket list

The Scenery

China boasts some of the most diverse landscapes, and what would you expect from one of the largest countries in the world. From deserts to mountain ranges to rice fields and to tropical paradises, during a visit all will witness the breathtaking landscapes China offers.

The Food

Whilst we often hear the horror stories of the food served in China, there is so much more the learn about the Chinese Cuisine. The food in China varies between each region, for example in the North noodles are a most common side to any dish, whereas in the South rice is served with almost everything. We recommend that if you travel to the Sichuan or Hunnan region, known for their unique spicy foods, you try a Sichuan hotpot meal. We also recommend a Peking Duck Dinner, or street foods such as roasted sweet potatoes and Chinese barbecue, shao kao.

The History

China is well known for hosting some of the most ancient tourist attractions, from The Great Wall of China to the Terracotta Warriors. A trip to a Beijing is a must to learn about Chinese history and culture, with the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven a must see.

The Pandas of China

We have all seen videos of these cute cuddly creatures on social media, so why not get up close to them in person, and there is no better way to do this than during a trip to China. Whether you want to visit them in one of the many Panda breeding and Conservation Centres, or visit the Dujiangyan Panda Base to become a volunteer for the day a trip would not be complete without seeing these fluffy beauties.

The Cities

Of course one of the main reasons to visit China is the cities. Shanghai being the largest and wealthiest, is also the gateway to China, with its two large airports, a busy port and the worlds fastest train. There is also Beijing, China’s capital city, which has the worlds largest airport and a centre full of culture and historical richness. Then there is Guangzhou, the manufacturing base, where a vast quantity of clothes, electronic, plastic goods and toys are produced and shipped from.
